Wood & Company becomes member of the Bucharest Stock Exchange

Wood & Company aims to better serve its clients by offering access to a growing number of emerging European stock exchanges. Adding to its exchange memberships in Prague, Budapest, Warsaw, and Ljubljana, as well as with the Wiener Börse and Deutsche Börse, Wood & Company is very pleased to announce to its clients that they may now invest in an important southeast European market through Wood & Company’s membership in the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

With a market capitalisation of $33 billion and benefiting from its recent entrance into the EU, Romania is the most promising stock market in Balkans. In dollar-terms, the main Bucharest index jumped 38% in the last 12 months and already reflects positive investor expectations for the market. However, with Romania offering very attractive domestic demand growth as well as strong corporate growth prospects, Wood & Company sees more upside for the index and hopes to bring new investors to Bucharest, thereby further increasing trading volumes.

In Romania, Wood & Company has research coverage of eight blue chip companies and plans to initiate on a number of other stocks in the medium term. It also plans to offer corporate finance services in Bucharest at some point in the future.
