Wood&Co. No.1 dealer in shares on Prague bourse in 2007

Prague, Jan 3 (CTK) - Wood & Company was the biggest dealer on the Prague bourse in 2007 with deals worth Kc535.5bn, replacing Patria Finance at the top, CTK has learned from the bourse's website.

Patria Finance was second with deals worth Kc520.8bn and Ceska sporitelna third with Kc220.2bn.

Wood & Company, in which Iceland's investment bank Straumur acquired a stake last year, saw the volume of deals rise by more than 50 percent.

Overall share trading turnover on the bourse totalled Kc1,013bn, the second highest turnover in history, and up from Kc848.9bn the previous year.

The Prague bourse has 21 members. Besides them, three state institutions, namely bail-out agency Ceska konsolidacni agentura, the Czech National Bank, and the Finance Ministry can trade on the bourse.

Body International Brokers has had trading suspended by the Czech National Bank.
